Occupational & Environmental Toxicology

Accu-Chem Laboratories® is a federally certified (CLIA) and CAP (College of American Pathologists) accredited clinical and forensic toxicology laboratory. Accu-Chem, which has been in operation in many states for 20 years, provides diagnostic testing for a wide array of environmental and occupational toxins.

Today, you want the most accurate and reliable toxicology data upon which to base critical management decisions. Because Accu-Chem specializes in testing human specimens, our staff has developed the level of expertise necessary to manage the most delicate toxicological challenges facing doctors, industry, government, and business today. This experience and specialization has enabled us to develop proprietary testing procedures and protocols for environmental and occupational chemical exposures ensuring greater accuracy and better service for our clients.

Obtaining an accurate patient history is the most important step to determine what tests to order. Many patients do not know the chemicals with which they have come in contact and this can be a problem for many physicians. The panels that Accu-Chem offers include some of the most common and persistent chemical compounds the average person may encounter. If the patient is unsure as to what chemical exposure they have had, enlightening information may be found in the Manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), given the time and place of initial exposure. Of course, we always recommend that the physician call our laboratory to consult with one of our professional staff if they are unsure of what test(s) to order, or if further information is required.

Accu-Chem receives samples from all over the world. Accu-Chem services includes specimen collection kits that can be sent to the doctor's office at no additional charge. The sample collection kit includes the necessary items, requisition forms, specimen bags, polar packs, and a crush-proof container for shipment. We always recommend that you use "Accu-Chem materials" since many of our tests are designed to detect in the low parts per billion range. Therefore, the proper collection supplies are critical for both accuracy and precision. Payment arrangements are required upon receipt of the specimen before we can begin to process the samples. Please choose one of the following methods:

1) Prepayment. We will accept a cashier's check, money order or credit card (Visa/MasterCard/American Express) along with the samples. If you choose one of these methods of payment, please be sure to include the payment with the specimens.

2) Established Account for monthly billing. As a physician or healthcare facility, you may choose to establish an account with Accu-Chem. You will be billed after all tests are complete. Please call the lab and request a credit application. The application is a short, one page document with the pertinent information we require for accurate billing. ***Please note that failure to make payment arrangements will cause unnecessary delays in specimen processing.***
