Inhalants-of-Abuse

Inhalant abuse is generally defined as the repeated, intentional inhalation of solvent vapors for the purpose of intoxication. Screening of body fluids such as blood and urine can supply valuable diagnostic information on frequency and extent of abuse by an individual and will provide the only unequivocal means of defining the agent(s) being used. Monitoring can provide a useful tool to assist in reducing dependence on a given solvent.

Alcohol

Accu-Chem provides the supplies necessary to analyze urine or blood for the presence of alcohol.

LSD

Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) is one of the most potent hallucinogenic agents known. Abuse of the drug is increasing in 14-24 year olds and is usually administered as the tartrate salt in oral doses of 100-250 ug. Hysterical behavior, hyperthermia, hyperactivity and delayed psychotic reactions are common. Side effects of LSD usage is the unpredictable recurrence of hallucinations for months after the last dose. LSD or its metabolites can be detected for up to 5 days following a single dose.

Urine Collection Kit

Accu-Chem will provide a "collection kit" containing all supplies necessary for sample collection. Each collection kit is pre-sealed in a clear plastic outer bag establishing an intact chain-of-custody procedure.

Preprinted chain-of-custody forms

Accu-Chem preprints chain-of-custody forms with client information and control numbers for sample tracking.

Sample Transportation

Accu-Chem provides the supplies necessary to transport samples to the laboratory at no charge to the client.

Sample Integrity

Accu-Chem inspects each sample for tampering, dilution and the presence of interfering substances.

Turnaround Time

Because rapid turnaround is critical to our clients, Accu-Chem provides drugs testing results within 24 hours for initial screens. GC\MS confirmations on all samples presumed positive are reported within 24-48 hours after the initial screen.
